Completed just weeks before the global pandemic in 2020, we couldn’t capture images of the Barrie-Simcoe Emergency Services Campus until recently. Though the pandemic stalled our plans, it also offered benefits to the employees.

Moving to a new facility can be daunting and cumbersome. However, with the employees working remotely during the pandemic, it provided the perfect opportunity for staff to transition at a slower pace. An unexpected benefit of the project timing.

Over the past three years, the campus has been utilized to its full potential, bringing together the Barrie Police Service, Barrie Fire & Emergency Service, and the Simcoe County Paramedic Services. Consolidating all emergency services onto one campus allow for shared space and staff amenities, giving each partner access to new and improved facilities, including training and simulations rooms, lunch areas, and a fitness space.
