Ontario Power Generation - New Headquarters
Ontario Power Generation - New Headquarters
In June of 2019, Ontario Power Generation (OPG) announced their plans to establish a new corporate headquarters in the Municipality of Clairington and move all their non-station-based positions from 15 existing offices across the Greater Toronto Area, Niagara, and Durham. The new campus will share a site just south of Highway 401 with the existing Darlington Energy Complex.
Lett Architects was hired by OPG to provide design services and perform the compliance design package with CIMA+. The new facility will be a three-storey, net-zero, 200,000 sq. ft. high-tech energy campus that promotes innovation and collaboration for the organization and its business partners. This campus will adopt free-address-workstation model and house 1,250 employees on a given day and more than 1,800 employees on a rotational basis. Lett Architects proposed to place the new campus next to Darlington Energy Complex to achieve higher efficiency in infrastructure and mobility, which can help OPG achieve their goal of promoting innovation and collaboration within their teams.
Bird Construction with Stantec have been awarded the Engineering, Procurement and Construction contract (EPC) and the project is set for completion in 2024.
