Who Nathan is

Nathan rediscovered his passion for architecture and design after a decade in the building industry as a journeyman electrician. With an Architectural Technology Diploma from Centennial College and Red Seal Certification, Nathan can navigate challenges from design to construction. His commitment to sustainability is evident in his love for organic architecture and nature within the built environment, influencing every design choice.

Outside of work, Nathan's curiosity leads him to explore new places, people, and cultures through travel, food, and experiences. He is also an avid golfer, cook, tabletop gamer, and unfortunately, a notorious plant killer.

Nathan stands at a round white table, looking down and pointing at an open book in front of him.

“Embrace the eternal pursuit of improvement, complacency is the catalyst of the journey to regression.”

What Nathan Does

Nathan’s unique blend of education and experience enables him to leverage his technical background and experience in the trades. He excels in Building Information Modeling (BIM), enhancing efficiency within the design process. Nathan translates the visions of architects, designers, and clients into practical technical presentations and models. During his cooperative time with Unity, Nathan developed a passion for creating specialized BIM resources, significantly improving the team's ability to focus on client and community needs by streamlining the technical aspects of design.

Why Nathan Does It

Nathan's fascination with optimizing spaces began in his youth and naturally evolved into a passion for larger-scale design. His love for sustainable design is rooted in outdoor experiences, inspired by nature's adaptability and resilience. During his studies, Nathan was introduced to Adaptive Architecture, focusing on developing structures that evolve with environmental and human needs. He believes in harnessing technology to blend design efficiency, adaptability, and sustainability, aiming for a forward-thinking and intentional approach to architecture.

Why Nathan chose: Diabetes Canada

“When a loved one was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, I was introduced to the daily battle people with the disease face. Unfortunately, this disease is typically imperceivable or carelessly associated with poor life-style choices, subsequently being overlooked by society and policymakers. While living derivatively with diabetes, I learned about the significant and financial burden of Insulin and other medical supplies present for Type 1 Diabetics. Diabetes Canada works on behalf of the diabetes community, submitting policy recommendations to federal and provincial governments on issues important to those living with diabetes or prediabetes. By choosing Diabetes Canada as my charity of choice, I’m able to highlight the resources they provide while providing essential funding for equipment and their research for a cure.”
